Endangered. The Florida Scrub Jay lives nowhere in the world except Florida. It has a complicated social system. It harvests large numbers of acorns, buries them, coming back later to eat them. Breeding in cooperative flocks, each territory is occupied by an adult pair and often 1 - 6 "helpers", usually the pair's offspring from previous years. The helpers assist in defending the territory and feeding the young.
